The latest so called ‘gangster’ flick ‘OUATIMD‘ has hit the Indian box office today on Thursday across the theatres in the country and the film has registered a bumper opening. The movie cashed in the advantage of the National holiday due to Independence day today on 15 August and has fared extremely good in mass circuits. However the film’s journey till its release was not out of conflicts and controversies due to its release date clash with Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Chennai Express’. Firstly OUATIMD was slated to release on 9 August but later Milan and Ekta both pushed back the movie to 15 August release.
OUATIMD Details: Directed by Milan Luthria, Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara stars Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. The film has been produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor under her production banner ‘Balaji Motion Pictures’. The film’s background scores and music have been composed by Pritam.
OUATIMD Opening Box office Report:
The movie is expected to collect around Rs. 16 cr on its opening day. OUATIMD faced stiff competition from last week release “Chennai Express” and according to the early reviews from the audience, the movie is not up to the expectations. We have talked to some of them and they gave us merely average reviews. Only Akshay Kumar has been the anticipated star of the movie.
Before the release of OUATIMD we had expected that Chennai Express, being poor in terms of story will fall down but the average performance of stars in OUATIMD and its weak story line-up has made its way clear. Chennai Express will surely go on its way of becoming Highest Successful Bollywood movie till yet.
OUATIMD has witnessed almost full occupancy in Afternoon and Evening shows. The movie performed extremely well in Single Screen Theatres, but was weak in Multiplexes. Because of National Holiday, Akshay Kumar starrer marked good opening but it will surely go down for next two days due to non holiday weekend. However, it is expected that Akshay’s fan following will work in favour and the movie will be a Hit.
