Dhule: Govt Hospital Doctor Brutally Thrashed, Blinded In One Eye

Police say he was around 22 years old and was the pillion rider with the patient who had sustained head injuries on Sunday. The incident happened on the night of 12th March when the relatives of a patient could not control their anger and started beating the doctor in the hospital itself. He was one of the nine arrested for thrashing senior resident doctor Rohan Mamunkar at the Government Medical College in Dhule. It is reported that he has now been admitted to the same hospital with injuries on his abdomen, chest and head, a fracture on his orbital bone and has lost vision in one eye.

A CCTV camera footage of the incident shows at least 20-25 people beating the doctor inside the hospital premises.

The Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) has also chose to protest by wearing black bands today. The doctor has reportedly lost one eye and is now admitted in the ICU.

Mumbai, Mar 13 Video footage of a doctor being brutally assaulted at a government hospital at Dhule in North Maharashtra went viral on social media today. "We will be working with black ribbons all over Maharashtra for tomorrow and will be conducting candle march in the evening".
