The television producer/writer/director shared a photo of an elephant with an evil smile, which looks similar to the bloody smile featured on the clown in American Horror Story: Freak Show. The symbolism has never been more clear, Ryan.

Details of the upcoming Season 7 have been kept under wraps, but Murphy made it known earlier that it will take place just after the 2016 election.

Despite the modern political premise, Murphy did recently clarify (via TVLine) that we won't see Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton as characters in Season 7. But he did so by losing the popular vote by 3 million.

The first episode of the upcoming season kicks off on that controversial election night, with subsequent instalments tracking the fallout from the bombshell result.

For those who are unaware, the two major political parties in the USA are represented by animals. The elephant is of course the symbol of the party, and it shouldn't be a coincident that he chose this animal over the Democratic symbol of a donkey.

The 51-year-old had previously stated that Clinton and her opponent Donald Trump would not specifically be featured on the show as characters. The latest reveal is a first look at one of Season 7's monsters. Furthermore, there is more than enough content to pull from, which would include the North Korea situation, the Muslim ban, the Healthcare situation, hate crimes, and much more.
