The Last Knight "shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero", according to producer Paramount.
Without the talismanic Optimus Prime, Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) is forced to unlock the secrets of the past, recruit his old allies and save the world. Granted, that's a feeling that many harbor toward the entire Transformers franchise, never mind the actual robots in disguise, but this worldwide sizzle reel has us intrigued nevertheless.
Tomorrow we will be getting the new trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight - but today, you can get a tease of that trailer (which is basically just a.gif), which reminds us all how badass Optimus Prime really is. Michael Bay is still in charge and offers us a film with all the ingredients of a successful blockbuster: action, humor and a rather cool casting!
If you're a fan of Michael Bay's Transformers films, it looks you have a chapter that follows suit. Check out the new trailer below.
Transformers: The Last Knight will open in theaters on June 21.
The trailer also furthers the confusion surrounding whether or not Anthony Hopkins's Sir Edmund Burton is evil, this time making him seem like the wealthy, good-natured catalyst that brings Yeager together with a kidnapped Oxford professor Viviane Wembly (Laura Haddock) to unlock the "secret history of the Transformers". There's also room in the film's ranks for Age of Extinction's Mark Wahlberg, Anthony Hopkins, Stanley Tucci, Jerrod Carmichael, Laura Haddock and Isabela Moner as the street-smart tomboy, Izabella. Heroes will become villains.
